Integrated Resource Plan

Below is VGS’s effective Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) filed in January 2020. It reaffirms our commitment to act now on climate change and offer customers a decarbonized thermal energy future. The IRP addresses VGS’s commitment to meeting the thermal energy needs of current customers safely and affordably while addressing the urgent challenges and economic costs of climate change. In January 2024, we filed an updated IRP which is currently being reviewed by the Public Utility Commission and Department of Public Service in Case No. 24-0125-PET. Both plans are available below.

Alternative Rate Plan

Below is VGS’s effective Alternative Regulation Plan (ARP), incentivizing VGS to provide least cost service, just and reasonable rates, and safe and reliable service. Additionally, it includes incentives that advance state and energy policy by establishing a Climate Action and Innovation Budget enabling VGS to invest in climate action. This ARP allows us to maintain affordability and high quality service for our customers while also aggressively pursuing our Climate Action Plan goals. Read the entire plan below.

Residential Rates

The rates below are effective for bills rendered on and after November 1, 2024

Domestic Service – Rate R

This rate schedule applies to all gas used for domestic purposes; in single family or two-family dwelling; in separately metered apartments of a multiple unit dwelling; in rooming houses; in multi-family apartment buildings served through one meter provided that no more than 50% of the building is used for nonresidential purposes.

Commercial Rates

The rates below are effective for bills rendered on and after November 1, 2024

General Service Low Usage, Low Load Factor – Rate G1

This rate schedule applies to all gas used for any purpose which does not come directly under the applicability of Rate R, and

1. Whose annual requirement is less than 6,000 Ccf.
2. Whose winter (November – March) requirement is equal or greater than 70% of its annual requirement.

General Service Low Usage, High Load Factor – Rate G2

This rate schedule applies to all gas used for any purpose which does not come directly under the applicability of Rate R, and

1. Whose annual requirement is less than 6,000 Ccf.
2. Whose winter (November – March) requirement is less than 70% of its annual requirement.

General Service High Usage, Low Load Factor – Rate G3

This rate schedule applies to all gas used for any purpose which does not come directly under the applicability of Rate R, and

1. Whose annual requirement is at least 6,000 Ccf.
2. Whose winter (November – March) requirement is equal or greater than 70% of its annual requirement.

General Service High Usage, High Load Factor -Rate G4

This rate schedule applies to all gas used for any purpose which does not come directly under the applicability of Rate R, and

1. Whose annual requirement is at least 6,000 Ccf.
2. Whose winter (November – March) requirement is less than 70% of its annual requirement.
