Company nominated alongside 12 other local medium-sized organizations

South Burlington, Vt. – VGS has been recognized as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in Vermont. The annual survey and awards program, which focuses on workplace policies, practices, demographics, and employee experience, is conducted annually by Vermont Business Magazine and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. VGS employees completed the statewide survey in December.

“Pride, integrity, and a passion for the safety of our customers and the climate is in the DNA of our all our team members. That includes fostering an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and just for all,” said Neale Lunderville, VGS President and CEO. “This nomination is great news and confirms what we already knew: VGS is the BEST place to work.”

The Company, which employs 135 Vermonters, offers competitive pay and benefits packages that rival most large organizations, a commitment to health and wellness and a supportive work environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, experiences and backgrounds of all kinds. VGS issued a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement in July 2020, outlining its commitment to take bold actions in everything it does for employees and customers alike.

VGS’s vision includes remaining steadfast in its commitment to a decarbonized future, boosting home weatherization for customers, and pursuing a more renewable supply.

“As a company, we never lost focus during the COVID pandemic of our foundational values of safety and affordability, but VGS employees also leaned in to continue our transformation to a Net Zero energy future for Vermont.  We constantly ask how we can better serve customers in the decades to come. We recognize our role in fighting climate change and have been advancing new initiatives to reduce the carbon profile of our services while maintaining the safety and affordability our customers have come to expect for more than 50 years,” said Lunderville.

The final rankings for each category will be announced at a special awards presentation to be determined at a later date.
