Planning and regulatory resources that guide our work.
VGS regularly develops and files plans and regulatory documents that help shape how we serve customers, invest in infrastructure, support energy innovation, and advance Vermont’s climate and energy goals. Explore key planning documents and approved regulatory frameworks below.
Integrated Resource Plan
VGS’s current Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), filed in January 2024, reaffirms our long-term strategy to meet customers’ energy needs affordably while advancing the transformation of Vermont’s thermal energy sector. The plan supports efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, address the impacts of climate change, and help meet the state’s climate goals.
Alternative Regulation Plan
VGS’s current Alternative Regulation Plan (ARP) is designed to incentivize the delivery of least-cost service, just and reasonable rates, and safe, reliable service for customers. The plan also advances state energy and climate policy through a Climate Action and Innovation Budget, which enables VGS to invest in initiatives that support climate action and innovation. This ARP helps maintain affordability and high-quality service while advancing the goals of our Climate Action Plan.
