Terms and Conditions
For emergencies, our certified service technicians are on call 24-hours a day. After hours, we will respond to heating system calls if the temperature is expected to drop below 50 degrees. Just give us a call at 802-863-4511. We will respond to water heater service calls every day of the week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm.
Annual inspections (if purchased) and other non-emergency repairs to heating systems need to be scheduled during normal work hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), during the months of February through August. Service Plan participants must provide VGS personnel with clear and safe access to all equipment covered by the Service Plan; VGS may refuse to perform repairs on equipment that is not safely accessible.
Coverage begins 14 days after you sign up and is month to month thereafter. You can cancel anytime by calling us at 802-863-4511 or emailing customerservice@vermontgas.com. Rates and terms are subject to change after January each year. Communication regarding any rate or term changes will be made electronically and 30 days prior to such change. Each VGS Service Plan option covers a single appliance, and service plans may not be transferred. Your plan will be cancelled if payments are delinquent for more than 60 days.
VGS shall not be required to provide repairs exceeding $2,000 per Service Plan contract year.
Acceptance and participation in the Service Plan is conditional and subject to the age and condition of your equipment. VGS may condition participation on a site inspection to confirm that equipment is in good working order and properly installed at the time the Service Plan goes into effect. All equipment must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions; Federal, State, and local requirements; and VGS standards. If during a service call or inspection, it is determined that your equipment was not installed in accordance with Federal, State or local requirements, this Service Plan will not cover the costs to bring your equipment into compliance.
This Service Plan is designed to cover the most common repairs to residential heating systems and water heaters. In the event that a replacement part is no longer manufactured, or otherwise unavailable, interchangeable parts may be used when necessary. Some routine maintenance services, such as seasonal pilot light-ups, cleaning boiler water, draining expansion tanks, venting radiators, and system balancing, are not covered under the plan. The Plan also does not cover damages resulting from flooding, fire, freezing, lightning, power surges, delays, inability to get parts, vandalism, or customer negligence. In addition, labor and materials for the following components are not covered: circuit breakers, external wiring, air filters, automatic water feeds, air vents, relief valves, blowers and shafts, blower bearings, direct-drive blower assemblies, induced draft motors, power venters, boiler sections, circulator pumps, cartridge-type circulators, expansion tanks, gas piping, heat exchangers, hot water coils, humidifiers, low water cut-offs, motorized dampers, water piping, and zone valve bodies. For water heaters, the tank itself, mixing valves, expansion tanks, and tankless water heaters are not covered.

Clover Energy by VGS considers heat pumps to be part of a hybrid heat system and installs them with the understanding that there is a secondary source of heat available; an operational combustion u0002based heat source is highly suggested to be present. When emergency no-heat situations are the result of no electricity to the home, Clover Energy will be unable to resolve the situation. After hours, we cannot respond to Heat Pump service requests on an emergency or no-heat basis but will prioritize such requests during regular business hours. You may reach us at 802-863-4511. Annual inspections will be scheduled during normal working hours, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We will respond to water heater service calls every day of the week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm.
Coverage begins 14 days after you sign up and automatically renews one year later. You will be billed monthly. Your Clover Energy Service Plan will be automatically renewed on its anniversary date unless you notify us at least 30 days prior to the anniversary date. Rates and terms are subject to change. Communication about rate or term changes will be made electronically and before a new Service Plan contract year begins. This Service Plan is designed to cover the most common repairs to residential ductless mini-split heat pumps, centrally ducted heat pumps, and heat pump water heaters. It does not cover damage resulting from flooding, fire, freezing, lightning, power surges, delays, inability to get parts, vandalism, or customer negligence. If a replacement part is no longer manufactured, or otherwise unavailable, interchangeable parts may be used when necessary. Service Plan participants must provide Clove Energy personnel with clear and safe access to any equipment covered by the Service Plan, and VGS shall not be required to perform repairs on equipment not safely accessible. Clover Energy shall not be required to provide repairs exceeding $2,000 per Service Plan contract year. If you change your mind within 30 days of signing up and you have not used your service plan, we can cancel your plan and issue a full refund. Your plan may be cancelled by Clover Energy if payments are delinquent more than 60 days.
Acceptance and participation in the Service Plan is conditional and subject to the age and condition of your equipment. If necessary, a site inspection at Clover Energy’s discretion may be required to confirm equipment is in good working order at the time the Service Plan goes into effect. Heat Pump equipment over 10 years of age will not be eligible for coverage under this Service plan. If, during a service call or inspection, it is determined that your equipment was installed or modified by an outside contractor, Clover Energy may terminate your Service Plan immediately without any refund; you will not be responsible for the monthly payments remaining in the term and Clover Energy will have no further responsibility for service or maintenance of your equipment. If it is determined that your equipment was not installed by Clover Energy and is not in accordance with Federal, State, and local requirements, this Service Plan will not cover the costs to bring your equipment into compliance.
Certain routine maintenance services such as cleaning filters, spraying outside unit with water to clean it from pollen and leaves are not covered under the plan. In addition, labor and materials for the following components are not covered: line set, line hide, and any associated finish materials. VGS may provide repairs exceeding $2,000, but any costs above $2,000 per service plan per year will be charged at normal rates.
